4-Strand Construction
The TriPoseidon uses a 4-strand braided construction. 4-strand braid uses four larger-diameter individual strands twisted together, compared to 8 or 9-strand braids that use more strands of smaller individual diameter to achieve the same PE rating. The 4-strand structure has two specific performance characteristics that make it the preferred construction for many saltwater applications:
Knot strength: larger individual strand diameter means more material makes contact at each wrap and turn within a knot; when a 4-strand braid knot is cinched, the heavier strands grip each other and the leader material with more surface area per strand than the thinner strands of an 8 or 9-strand braid at equivalent PE number; this results in higher knot retention strength and more reliable knot seating across standard connections — FG knot, Palomar, improved clinch and uni-to-uni — particularly important at the heavier line classes (PE #3.0–8.0) where the forces on the knot during a fish fight are significant
Strand-level abrasion resistance: a 4-strand braid at a given PE rating has larger individual strand diameter than a multi-strand braid at the same rating; a thicker individual strand has more abrasion material at its surface before the strand’s structural fibres are reached; contact with reef edges, oyster-covered structure, rock platforms and rubble bottom wears through the strand’s outer layer before compromising strength; at the heavy line classes (PE #5.0–8.0) where reef and bottom fishing are the primary applications, this strand-level abrasion reserve is a practical advantage
Abrasion and Corrosion Resistance
The TriPoseidon is built for both freshwater and saltwater use. The anti-corrosion treatment resists salt penetration between the braid strands — salt crystal ingress causes internal abrasion as the braid flexes through the cast-and-retrieve cycle, grinding the crystals against the inner strand surfaces; the anti-corrosion treatment seals the braid against this mechanism. The abrasion resistance across the full 8–80LB range is derived from both the 4-strand construction’s larger strand diameter and the line’s surface treatment.

#0.4 — 8LB: ultralight estuary; bream and estuary perch on micro soft plastics; pairs with 1000–2000-size reels; 4–6lb fluorocarbon leader
#0.6 — 10LB: light estuary; bream, small flathead and whiting; 2000-size reels; 6–8lb leader
#6.0 — 60LB: offshore medium; medium kingfish, large snapper and offshore jigging; 6000–8000 reels; 40–50lb leader

Colour Guide
Green: blends with tannin and algae-stained estuary, river and freshwater environments; the most versatile all-round colour for Australian inshore and freshwater fishing
Yellow: high-visibility for bite detection by watching line angle and movement; surf, beach and open boat fishing where line visibility at distance is the primary detection method
Gray: low-visibility in both green and blue water; suited to clear estuary and offshore applications where line colour visibility to pressured fish is a concern
Black: low-visibility in deep water and low-light conditions; deep reef bottom fishing and night fishing applications
Blue: blends with blue offshore water; suited to offshore trolling, jigging and deep bottom fishing where the line is in blue-water column
Red: red light wavelengths are absorbed rapidly as depth increases in the water column; below approximately 5m, red braid appears very dark or near-invisible to fish looking up at the line in the water column; suited to bottom fishing and jigging at depth
White: high-visibility against dark water and in low-light surf conditions; also popular for popper and surface lure fishing
Multi-color: colour changes at regular intervals (typically every 10m) for cast distance management and depth reading; suited to surfcasting, jigging and bottom fishing where knowing cast or lure depth relative to structure is critical
