The Lureleader Attack (2025) is a two-piece carbon fibre spinning rod built for distance casting from rock platforms, surf beaches and open inshore environments. Five variants from 7’0″ to 9’3″ in Medium and Medium-Heavy power with a Regular-Fast action — the longer lengths and long-cast design intent place this rod in rock, surf and extended-reach lure fishing applications where casting distance and line control at range are the priorities. $199.95.

Lureleader Rod Range — Attack vs Vigorous

  • Attack 2025 ($199.95) — spinning-only; 7’0″–9’3″; Medium and Medium-Heavy; long-cast design for rock, surf and distance lure fishing; Regular-Fast action for a softer tip load and more casting arc on longer rods
  • Vigorous 2026 ($399.95) — spinning and baitcast; 6’3″–10’0″; Light to Medium-Heavy; broader range covering finesse estuary through to surf and offshore; Fast action throughout

Regular-Fast Action — Why It Suits Long Rods

Regular-Fast (R-Fast) action loads through the upper third of the blank — deeper into the rod than Extra-Fast or Fast tip-only action, but not as far as a Mid or Slow action. On longer rods in the 8–9 foot range, a Regular-Fast action provides more casting arc and stores more energy through the cast than a Fast tip-only action, which produces longer casting distances at the expense of a slightly softer bite feel. For surf and rock fishing where casting distance is a primary requirement and the angler is often casting into wind and swell, the Regular-Fast action is the correct compromise between sensitivity and casting performance. A Fast action tip on a 9-foot surf rod can be too stiff for comfortable extended casting and reduces distance relative to a rod that loads further into the blank.

Variant Guide

  • 702MS — 7’0″ Medium Spinning; shorter model in the range; suits estuary and freshwater lure fishing for flathead, snapper and bass where some casting distance is needed without the length of a full surf rod; good balance on medium-weight braid (PE #1.0–#1.5)
  • 762MS — 7’6″ Medium Spinning; versatile mid-length for estuaries, light rock platforms and open inshore areas; flathead, snapper and trevally on medium braid; the most versatile length in the range for general inshore lure fishing
  • 802MS — 8’0″ Medium Spinning; longer reach for rock platforms and surf beaches; casting distance for snapper, trevally and flathead with medium plastics and hard bodies; suits PE #1.5–#2.0 braid
  • 862MS — 8’6″ Medium Spinning; heavier surf and exposed rock platform rod; distance casting for tailor, salmon, trevally and snapper from surf beaches; suits PE #2.0–#2.5 braid on a 4000–5000 size reel
  • 932MHS — 9’3″ Medium-Heavy Spinning; the longest and most powerful model in the range; maximum casting distance from surf beaches and high rock platforms; heavier species including large trevally, tailor and mulloway; suits PE #2.5–#3.0 braid on a 5000–6000 size reel

Key Features

  • Carbon fibre blank — two-piece carbon fibre construction for a light, sensitive rod that carries power through the longer lengths without the weight penalty of fibreglass; the two-piece format allows transport of 8–9 foot rods without a full-length rod bag
  • Regular-Fast action — loads through the upper third of the blank for efficient casting arc on longer rods; better distance casting on longer models than a tip-only Fast action; maintains sufficient sensitivity for detecting bites on soft plastics and hard bodies at range
  • Long cast design — the rod lengths (7’0″–9’3″) and action are specifically chosen for distance casting from elevated positions; longer rods generate more casting arc, keep more line off the water on the retrieve in swell and wind, and improve line control at range
  • Spinning configuration throughout — all 5 variants are spinning rods with spinning guide orientation and spinning reel seat; matched to spinning reels in the 3000–6000 size range depending on the model
