Kingdom Ultra-Light Jig Heads are finesse-weight ball jig heads in 0.7g to 3.5g, designed for light estuary and freshwater soft plastic fishing where heavy jigheads would sink too fast, lose the natural action of the plastic and spook line-shy species in shallow, clear water. At 0.7g–1.2g these are the lightest practical jig head weight for fishing soft plastics and grubs under a metre of water over shallow sand and weed flats — light enough to sink slowly on a slack line and present the plastic at a horizontal angle rather than nose-diving to the bottom. The 2.5g and 3.5g options extend the range to slightly deeper water, light current and estuary channels where a bit more weight is needed to reach the bottom while still maintaining a natural, slow-falling presentation. Carbon steel. 15 per pack across two hook models (3029 and 3030) and six weight options.
Weight Selection Guide
0.7g — ultra-finesse; very shallow water (under 50cm), dead-calm conditions, small bream and whiting on micro plastics; sink rate is very slow, suited to surface film to mid-water presentations on tiny soft plastics and grubs
1g / 1.2g — standard light finesse; shallow to mid-depth estuary water (50cm–1.5m), light current, bream and whiting on 1–2 inch soft plastics; the most versatile weights in the range for general light estuary work
1.7g — light-medium; 1–2m depth in light to moderate current; bream, whiting and small flathead on 2–3 inch plastics in estuary channels and around structure
2.5g / 3.5g — medium finesse; 1.5–3m depth, moderate current, flathead and larger bream on 2–3 inch plastics in estuary channels, around drop-offs and in tidal current
Model 3029 vs 3030
Both models cover the same 0.7g–3.5g weight range. The 3029 and 3030 designations refer to different hook configurations within the same weight class — select based on the size of soft plastic you are fishing. When in doubt, the 3030 is the more commonly used configuration for general estuary soft plastic fishing.
Key Features
Ball head design — the round ball head produces a natural, steady swimming action on the soft plastic during the retrieve and a horizontal nose-down posture on the fall, imitating a small prawn or baitfish sinking through the water column
Ultra-light weights (0.7g–3.5g) — the lightest jig head weights in the store’s range; designed specifically for shallow, clear-water estuary fishing where heavier heads sink too fast, lose the plastic’s action and spook line-shy bream and whiting
Carbon steel hook — sharp carbon steel hook point for reliable hookups on the light bites of small-mouthed species like bream and whiting
15 per pack — 15 jig heads per pack for extended sessions and allowance for snag losses in structure-heavy estuary environments
