Also known as a Rattle Bait, the internal ball bearings generate noise on the retrieve to trigger aggressive reaction strikes from a wide range of species. Negative floatation means it sinks on the pause — deadly when worked through weed edges or yo-yo jigged in deeper water.

How to Fish the Excaliber

Weed edge retrieve: Cast over weed and retrieve so the lure barely ticks the tops of the grass. When it snags, sharply pop the rod upward once or twice — this triggers reaction strikes from fish holding in the vegetation.

Yo-yo jigging: In cooler, deeper water lift the rod tip from 9 o’clock to 11 o’clock and let the lure fall on a semi-slack line. Most strikes come on the fall.

Weight tuning: Depth can be fine-tuned with the addition of tungsten putty for different water conditions.
