Baitholder Hooks are general-purpose bait fishing hooks with one or two upward-facing barbs along the shank, below the eye. These shank barbs grip natural bait — worms, prawns, maggots and cut bait — preventing them from sliding down the hook and bunching at the bend during the cast. Without shank barbs, soft natural baits can shift position on the hook after a few casts, reducing the presentation and exposing the hook point in a way that causes fish to spit the bait. The baitholder design solves this by anchoring the bait body at the correct position on the shank throughout the cast and retrieve. High carbon steel construction with nickel electroplated coating for corrosion resistance. Supplied in 200-piece packs across 10 sizes from #8 to #5/0, covering a full range of species from small bream and whiting through to large carp and estuary bass.
