The Kingdom Kingpro II is a two-piece carbon lure rod in seven configurations: 1.8m, 1.98m and 2.1m in Light, Medium-Light and Medium power, plus a 2.4m Medium spinning model. Available in spinning and casting versions. The blank uses 24T carbon fibre with X45 cross-stack construction for torsional and lateral rigidity, fitted with K-bracket ceramic guide rings and a carved wood split grip. Fast action. Weight: 96–144g. Lure ratings: 2–27g depending on model. Line ratings: 2–20LB depending on model.
The Kingpro II blank is built from 24T carbon fibre — a medium-high modulus carbon specification that balances stiffness and impact resistance; higher modulus carbon (30T, 40T) is stiffer but more brittle under lateral impact; 24T provides a fast action tip with sufficient toughness for the structural loads of lure fishing. The blank uses X45 cross-stacking, where layers of carbon cloth are oriented at +45° and −45° to the blank’s central axis, in addition to the standard 0° and 90° longitudinal and hoop wraps.
A standard carbon blank resists bending loads well but is vulnerable to torsional twist — the rotational force that a fish running at an angle to the rod generates across the blank’s cross-section; and to lateral loads from the side. The X45 diagonal wrap layers add material specifically oriented to resist these torsional and lateral forces: the 45° fibres run diagonally across the blank surface and carry torsional and shear loads efficiently; the result is a blank that maintains its alignment and stiffness under the combined bending, torsional and lateral loads of a fish fight. The images confirm three-axis resistance: 90° (voltage/compression), 0° (bending) and ±45° (twist).
The Kingpro II is fitted with K-bracket (Fuji K-style) guide frames throughout. The K-bracket geometry positions the guide ring lower and closer to the blank than a standard guide frame at equivalent ring diameter; the lower profile reduces the lever arm between the line and the blank, which reduces the torque the guide applies to the blank under load and improves the rod’s tip sensitivity. Ceramic insert rings provide a smooth, hard surface for the running line — ceramic has significantly higher hardness and lower friction than stainless steel; on PE braid, which is highly abrasive to soft guide materials, ceramic rings maintain their surface quality over the long term where standard stainless inserts would score and groove. The smooth edges on both sides of the bracket reduce line wrap events on the cast.
The handle uses a split grip design with a carved wooden fore grip and rear grip separated by the black anodised Kingdom reel seat. Split grip construction reduces the total handle weight by removing material between the fore and rear grip sections that is not contact area during fishing; the angler’s hand contacts the fore grip during the retrieve and the rear grip during the cast, and the exposed blank section between the two grips reduces the overall handle weight without reducing grip area. The wooden grips are carved through multiple machining processes producing a natural wood grain texture; the natural grain provides grip from the wood’s surface texture rather than from rubber or cork compression. Kingdom branding is inlaid on the reel seat.
Fast action means the blank bends primarily in the upper third of its length, with the mid-section and butt remaining comparatively stiff. For lure fishing, fast action provides two practical advantages: tip sensitivity — the fast-bending tip section transmits vibrations and impacts from the lure directly to the hand with minimal damping from mid-blank flex; and hook-setting power — when a fish takes the lure and the angler sweeps the rod, the stiff mid and butt sections drive the hook point home quickly without absorbing the strike energy in a soft mid-blank bend. Fast action is the standard preference for bream, bass, flathead and estuary species fishing with light to medium lures.
The spinning versions carry the guides facing downward on the underside of the blank and use a standard spinning reel seat that positions the reel below the blank. The casting versions carry the guides facing upward and use a trigger-grip casting reel seat designed for baitcasting reels. Both configurations are available in 1.8m L, 1.98m ML and 2.1m M; the 2.4m M is available in spinning only. For PE braid mainline with fluorocarbon leader across all power ratings, the spinning configuration is more common in Australian estuary fishing; casting configurations suit baitcasting setups preferred for bass, cod and heavier applications.
