The HISTAR MS-X 1.68m ultralight rod and reel combo brings together a light-lure rod, pre-spooled reel and a selection of accessories for freshwater stream, river and lake fishing. Choose spinning or baitcasting, with Premium Set options adding a rod bag and fish-handling tools.

Choose your set

The option names identify equipment bundles, not colours. The two Premium Set names differ only by a space after the second hyphen; use this guide and the selected option's image to choose the correct reel type.

  • 1.68m-A-Premium Set: spinning rod with MS-X 1000 spinning reel, pre-spooled line, tackle box, casting aid, five assorted-colour spoon lures and five snap swivels, plus a rod bag, lure pliers and fish gripper.
  • 1.68m-A- Premium Set: baitcasting rod and baitcasting reel, pre-spooled line, tackle box, casting aid, five assorted-colour spoon lures and five snap swivels, plus a rod bag, lure pliers and fish gripper.
  • 1.68m-A: spinning rod with MS-X 1000 spinning reel, pre-spooled line, tackle box, casting aid, five assorted-colour spoon lures and five snap swivels.
  • 1.68m-B: baitcasting rod and baitcasting reel, pre-spooled line, tackle box, casting aid, five assorted-colour spoon lures and five snap swivels.

Spoon colours are assorted and cannot be selected individually. The five small metal connectors shown with each set are snap swivels, not five additional VIB lures. Rod bags and fish-handling tools are included only with the Premium Sets.

Reel choices

Spinning sets pair the spinning rod with an MS-X 1000 reel. Baitcasting sets pair a trigger-grip rod with a low-profile MS-X baitcasting reel featuring a twin-paddle handle. Each set includes one rod and one reel, not both reel types.

Available colours

Both rod styles have a grey and black finish with orange accents and pale grey grips. The spinning reel has dark grey and black components with an orange-accented spool. The baitcasting reel has a grey and black body with orange handle knobs. Premium Sets include a black rod bag; accessory colours may vary.

Light-lure freshwater fishing

Work small spoons and other appropriately weighted lures through trout streams or along freshwater banks for redfin. Keep the lure within the 0.6–6g rating, check your knots and set the reel drag for an ultralight outfit before fishing.
