Kingdom Mithras Squid Baitcasting Reel – Deep Spool Carbon Aluminium | 8kg Drag

The Kingdom Mithras is a deep-spool baitcasting reel engineered specifically for squid fishing, combining a high-capacity spool with the robust saltwater construction needed for sustained work in the marine environment. The aluminium alloy main frame provides structural rigidity and saltwater corrosion resistance, while the carbon fibre side cover reduces overall weight, improves rigidity and dissipates heat generated during extended drag-pressure fights. Brass internal gears deliver superior corrosion resistance and impact strength compared to standard alloy gears in harsh saltwater conditions.

Models

• DH120 — 8+1 bearings | 5.6:1 gear ratio | 170g | Left or right hand
• SH120 — 10+1 bearings | 5.6:1 / 4.7:1 gear ratio | 178g | Left or right hand

Key Features

• Deep spool design — high line capacity deep spool for squid fishing applications requiring significant line reserves: 2# PE / 180m or 3# PE / 150m
• Aluminium alloy main frame — strong, corrosion-resistant aluminium alloy frame built for extreme saltwater conditions including rock platform, boat and inshore squid ground environments
• Carbon fibre side cover — lightweight, rigid carbon side plate reduces total reel weight and improves heat dissipation during extended drag pressure
• Brass gears — high-strength brass internal gears provide superior corrosion resistance and structural durability compared to standard alloy gears in harsh marine saltwater environments
• Hexagonal star-shaped drag — hexagonal star drag design for more stable, precise drag adjustment during the retrieve and while fighting fish, reducing the chance of inadvertent drag slippage
• Tapered line guide — tapered oscillating line guide minimises line-to-guide friction for improved casting distance and cleaner, more even line lay across the spool
• 8kg max drag — powerful drag system for controlling large squid and the incidental pelagic and bottom species encountered during squid sessions
