Build your own saltwater traces with this flexible, seven-strand nylon-coated steel leader wire. Each 10m spool lets you cut leaders to suit your rigs, with eight breaking-strain options from 20lb to 200lb for different bait sizes and fishing setups.

Flexible wire for trace making

The seven-strand steel construction combines flexibility with abrasion resistance, while the nylon coating adds a protective layer for saltwater use. It is suited to making bite-resistant traces for toothy species such as tailor, mackerel and barracuda.

Rigging and care

Choose the breaking strain to suit your target species and tackle. Cut the wire to your required length and use appropriately sized crimps and a suitable crimping tool. Inspect finished connections and replace wire that is kinked, damaged or worn.
