The SeaSir Cast X2 baitcasting reel combines hybrid ceramic spool bearings, a standard-capacity aluminium spool and adjustable magnetic braking for lure fishing. Its 7.3:1 gearing helps pick up slack quickly, while a nylon body keeps the reel's weight to approximately 189g.

Features

  • Hybrid ceramic spool bearings: support the aluminium-alloy spool during casting.
  • Brass gears with dual-bearing support: the pinion is supported to help maintain gear alignment. This support system is separate from the reel's total 6+1 bearing specification.
  • Carbon-fibre drag washers: provide up to 9kg maximum drag.
  • Adjustable magnetic brake: nine N52 magnets with 18 adjustment settings for tuning spool control.
  • Audible drag clicker: sounds as line is pulled against the drag.
  • Aluminium-alloy handle: approximately 106mm overall length with carbon grips.
  • Tapered line guide: directs line during casting and retrieval.
  • Metal spool-tension knob and star drag: allow setup and drag adjustment.

Choose your retrieve hand

  • Right Hand: turn the handle with your right hand.
  • Left Hand: turn the handle with your left hand.

The selector is labelled Color, but these options select retrieve hand rather than colour. Choose your preferred handle side before ordering. Both options have the same listed specifications and standard-capacity spool.

Lure fishing

Pair the Cast X2 with a compatible baitcasting rod for working lures along lake edges, riverbanks and sheltered structure. The fast gearing is useful for recovering slack between rod twitches or bringing a lure back for the next cast. Match your lure and line to the rod's ratings and adjust the reel to suit the conditions.

Setup and care

Begin with a high brake setting and reduce it gradually as you become comfortable with your lure and casting conditions. Tune spool tension and maintain thumb control; magnetic brakes do not eliminate backlash.

Keep sand and grit away from moving parts, clean and dry the reel after use, and maintain the bearings regularly. After saltwater exposure, gently rinse the exterior with fresh water and dry thoroughly. Do not immerse the reel; corrosion-resistant bearings do not make the complete reel waterproof.
