Quantité

The Purelure Titanium-T is an Extra Ultra Light (XUL) and Ultra Light (UL) BFS lure rod built around a TC4 Grade 5 titanium alloy rod tip — a material not found on any other rod in the Purelure range and uncommon in the wider rod market at this price point. Fuji O-ring guides, Fuji reel seat, AA+ grade cork grip and a reverse spigot joint. Lure weight 0.5–6g (XUL models) and 0.7–7g (UL models). Seven variants from 5’3″ to 7’2″ in Fast and Moderate Fast action. $159.95.

Purelure Rod Range — Where the Titanium-T Sits

  • Zero ($249.95) — Toray T1100G carbon, Fuji Alconite guides, solid composite tip, full carbon reel seat and handle; UL and L power; premium finesse lure and BFS fishing
  • NDVIA MAX ($199.95–$219.95) — tubular tip, Fuji guides; ajing and eging specialist; spinning and casting in L, ML and M power
  • Titanium-T ($159.95) — TC4 titanium alloy tip, Fuji O-ring guides and reel seat, AA+ cork grip; XUL and UL power for 0.5–6g lures; BFS and stream trout specialist

TC4 Grade 5 Titanium Alloy Tip

The rod tip section on all Titanium-T models is machined from TC4 (Ti-6Al-4V) Grade 5 titanium alloy — the same alloy grade used in aerospace structural components. Titanium has a higher specific gravity (mass per unit volume) than carbon fibre, which means a titanium tip section of the same diameter has more mass than a carbon equivalent. This mass gives the titanium tip a different flex and recovery characteristic: it bends more easily under the weight of an ultra-light lure, loading the tip even on lures in the 0.5–1g range where a standard carbon tip would barely flex, and it recovers with a more controlled, linear arc rather than the sharper snap-back of a light carbon tip. The practical result is that the titanium tip provides a linear casting trajectory — the lure follows a more predictable flight path for accuracy on tight casts in streams and around structure — and a more flexible, resilient tip that transmits the action of micro lures more faithfully than a stiffer carbon tip of equivalent diameter. The titanium tip also has excellent resilience against permanent set — it returns to its original position after flexing without developing the bend memory that can occur in a fine carbon solid tip after repeated load cycles.

Key Features

  • TC4 Grade 5 titanium alloy tip — machined to a specific taper; higher flexibility and resilience than carbon at equivalent diameter; linear casting trajectory; superior recovery from repeated flexing; loads under 0.5g lure weight where carbon tips remain unbent
  • Fuji O-ring guides — Fuji guide rings for smooth line passage and heat resistance on PE braid; the Fuji brand standard for consistent guide performance
  • Fuji reel seat — Fuji lightweight reel seat for secure reel mounting and reduced total reel-seat weight; fits standard spinning and casting reel foot dimensions
  • AA+ grade cork grip — premium cork handle for natural feel and vibration transmission; cork transmits rod tip vibration to the palm more efficiently than EVA foam; the AA+ grade uses higher density, less-porous cork that resists moisture absorption and shape degradation over time
  • Solid machined aluminium alloy fittings — the reel seat hood and end cap are machined aluminium with a mechanical bond (not adhesive) to the blank; the mechanical joint is stronger than adhesive bonding under the lateral forces that occur when a fish runs against the drag
  • Reverse spigot joint — the two-piece joint uses a friction-fit reverse spigot; the male spigot is on the upper section and seats into the lower section, which maintains blank taper continuity through the joint more cleanly than a standard over-ferrule; do not force the joint — it requires firm hand pressure only to seat correctly
  • T1100G reinforcement at stress points — Toray T1100G carbon fibre is added to the blank at key stress concentration points (joint, butt) to reinforce areas that carry the highest bending load without adding weight across the full blank length
  • 24T + 30T carbon main blank — dual-modulus carbon cloth base for the main blank; the combination of 24T and 30T cloth provides the stiffness gradient needed for XUL performance — sensitive in the tip, progressively stiffer through the mid and butt

Variant Guide

  • TH-532XULC-F — 5’3″ / Extra Ultra Light / Casting (BFS) / Fast / 0.5–6g / 1–4lb — short one-handed BFS casting rod for tight quarters, small streams and areas with overhead obstruction; the titanium tip loads on the lightest micro jigs for accurate short casts around structure
  • TH-532XULS-F — 5’3″ / Extra Ultra Light / Spinning / Fast / 0.5–6g / 1–4lb — designed for minnow lures in obstacle-heavy water; the titanium tip provides a linear trajectory on the cast and transmits micro-minnow swimming action directly to the angler’s hand; reminiscent of fibreglass stream rods in feel but with carbon’s light weight
  • TH-562XULS-MF — 5’6″ / Extra Ultra Light / Spinning / Moderate Fast / 0.5–6g / 1–4lb — designed for area trout (managed fishing grounds), small urban rivers and streams; MF action for mid-range casting with small lures; highly sensitive tip for detecting the light bites of trout on small plastics and micro jigs
  • TH-602ULS-MF — 6’0″ / Ultra Light / Spinning / Moderate Fast / 0.7–7g / 1–4lb — versatile length for managed fishing grounds and wider stream systems; longer reach for pin-point accuracy on open water; suits vibes, minnow lures and small surface pencils
  • TH-602ULC-MF — 6’0″ / Ultra Light / Casting (BFS) / Moderate Fast / 0.7–7g / suits BFS baitcast outfits for freshwater bass and bream around structure at the 6-foot length
  • TH-6102ULS-MF — 6’10½″ / Ultra Light / Spinning / Moderate Fast / lighter estuary and freshwater lure fishing at a longer length; additional reach for open water presentations
  • TH-722ULS-MF — 7’2″ / Ultra Light / Spinning / Moderate Fast / longest model in the range; maximum casting reach for open estuary and freshwater lure fishing on UL outfits; bass, bream and trout in open water
