The PURELURE Telescopic BFS Travel Rod is a micro finesse telescopic travel rod with a solid carbon tip, Fuji guides and a 1.1mm top diameter across Ultra Light, Light and Medium Light power configurations. Available in casting and spinning variants from 1.53m to 2.10m in three length groups. The telescopic design collapses to a compact carry length for backpack and luggage transport without disassembly — extend and lock each section to fish. Solid Carbon Tip Construction

The PURELURE Telescopic uses a solid carbon tip section rather than the hollow tube construction used throughout the rest of the blank. The distinction between solid and hollow carbon at the tip is significant for micro finesse fishing:

• Sensitivity: a solid carbon tip transmits vibration more directly than a hollow tip at equivalent diameter; hollow carbon tube walls at 1.1mm diameter are extremely thin and can dampen micro-vibrations from the blank before they reach the angler’s hand; a solid carbon tip at the same diameter has no wall — it is a continuous carbon matrix that transmits vibration from the lure and blank as a direct signal rather than through a thin shell that absorbs and reflects some of the energy; for 0.5–3g lure presentations where the vibration signal from lure action and bite detection is already at the minimum perceptible level, solid tip construction preserves the signal where hollow construction would reduce it
• Durability at fine diameters: at 1.1mm, a hollow carbon tube has a wall thickness of less than 0.3mm; this is structurally vulnerable to lateral impact — contacting rod tips with structure, guide frames or other rods during transport or casting in tight cover is enough to fracture a hollow carbon wall at this diameter; a solid carbon tip at 1.1mm is a continuous carbon rod with no hollow centre to collapse under impact load; the solid tip is meaningfully more impact-resistant than a hollow tube of equivalent diameter
• Progressive flex at fine diameters: the solid tip’s flex behaviour is more gradual than a hollow tip as the tip approaches its flex limit; hollow thin-wall carbon can transition from nearly rigid to collapsed with little progressive warning under load; a solid tip bends progressively, giving the angler feel of how close to the rod’s limit the load is during a fish fight

Telescopic Design — Travel Advantage

The telescopic construction collapses all sections together without disassembly — each section slides inside the next and locks when extended; to collapse the rod, each section slides back inside its outer section sequentially. At 1.53–2.10m fishing length, the collapsed travel length is approximately 40–55cm depending on the number of sections. This is shorter than the REFLEX ARC Limited Edition’s 4-piece breakdown and packs without a rod case — the collapsed rod can go into a rod bag, a backpack side pocket or luggage without the separate assembly step required for multi-piece rods.

The telescopic design suits anglers who travel frequently to fishing destinations — national park streams, fly-in impoundments and interstate trips — where carrying a standard rod bag is inconvenient or impossible. Fuji Guides

All variants are fitted with Fuji guide rings. Fuji guides ensure ring insert hardness sufficient to resist grooving from PE braid at the fine line classes (PE #0.2–0.4) used for micro lure BFS fishing, and dimensional consistency across the guide set for straight-line friction reduction from reel to tip. The guide spacing and placement on a telescopic rod is critical — each guide must land correctly when the rod is extended to maintain the same line path performance as a conventional multi-piece or 1-piece rod.

Power and Length Configuration Guide

The 10 configurations span three power levels and four length groups across casting and spinning variants:

• Ultra Light (UL) — “150” series: the lightest and most specialised power; suited to sub-1g micro lures, the lightest fluorocarbon and the most demanding micro finesse presentations; the UL variants have the finest tip-load response in the range and are paired with the lightest BFS reel setups; the casting UL is the most expensive configuration at the top of the range; suited to managed trout fisheries, small creek bream and finesse perch in clear, low-pressure water
• Light (L) — “175” series (1.75m): a mid-length option between the compact 150 series and the full-length ML configurations; Light power suits 0.5–3g lure presentations on 2–4lb fluorocarbon or PE #0.2–0.4 braid; estuary perch, small bass and bream in moderate-depth estuary environments
• Medium Light (ML) — “153” Black series: ML power in the Black finish; suited to 1–5g lure presentations on 4–6lb fluorocarbon or PE #0.4–0.6 braid; more versatile than the UL and L configurations for estuary and coastal situations where slightly heavier lures are needed
• Medium Light Gold (MLGold) — Cast 180 / Spinn 210: the 1.80m casting and 2.10m spinning ML configuration in gold finish; the longest spinning variant at 2.10m provides maximum casting reach for open water; the 1.80m casting is suited to confined estuary casting with a BFS baitcasting reel; the gold finish is the standard colour for this length group
• Medium Light Red (MLRed) — Cast 180 / Spinn 210: identical specifications to the MLGold in red finish; same 1.80m casting and 2.10m spinning lengths; colour preference between red and gold is the only distinction between these and the MLGold variants

• Casting variants: designed for baitcasting reels; pairs with a BFS baitcasting reel (the PURELURE ZANA is the natural combination in this range) for thumb-brake control over lure placement; suits anglers already practised with baitcasting equipment who want to extend this technique into travel fishing
