The PURELURE TORRENT is the second-generation TORRENT lure rod, launched in 2026. Built on a T1100 × M40X hybrid carbon blank with TIP BUTT 45°+90° cross-wound construction, Fuji SIC guides and an all-carbon monocoque rear grip. Eight models from 7’3” to 9’6” covering ML, M and MH actions in spinning and baitcast, plus a dedicated EGI squid model. $374.95–$429.95.

Carbon Blank Construction

The TORRENT blank is built from three layers of precision-engineered carbon to balance casting distance, sensitivity and torsional rigidity:

• Base layer — T1100 × M40X hybrid: A blend of Toray T1100 high-modulus carbon and M40X carbon fabric, cross-rolled at 45° and 90°. T1100 is Toray’s highest tensile-strength commercial carbon fibre; M40X is a high-modulus fibre that adds stiffness for fast power transmission. The 45°/90° cross-winding distributes load across both axes, creating a lightweight, high-rigidity foundation with inherent resilience under fighting load.
• Reinforcement layer — tri-directional T1100 tape: T1100 carbon tape applied across three directions locks the blank against torsional flex under casting force and fish-fighting load. Torsional rigidity determines how directly power from the casting stroke transfers to the lure — a blank that twists under load loses energy in the twist rather than transmitting it through the tip.
• Outer layer — 4-axis cross-weave: A custom four-directional weave wraps the outside of the blank. This layer acts as a dynamic vibration-damping mesh — it suppresses unwanted blank oscillation after the cast and between twitches, letting only clean signal from lure contact and fish strikes reach the handle. The result: bottom contact and bites register with clarity; blank chatter from casting and retrieve is filtered out.

TIP BUTT 45°+90° Construction

PURELURE’s TIP BUTT construction places different carbon orientation angles at the tip section and butt section of the blank. The tip is tuned for sensitivity and fast recovery after the cast; the butt is tuned for power transmission and torsional stability under load. The two sections are optimised independently, then integrated into a single blank that achieves casting distance, bite registration and fighting power without compromise.

All-Carbon Monocoque Rear Grip

The rear grip is a single-piece hollow carbon tube — a monocoque structure where the grip itself is part of the blank’s vibration pathway. Carbon conducts vibration faster and with less damping than cork, EVA foam or rubber grips. Under the same rod tip vibration, a carbon handle delivers measurably more feedback than a traditional grip material. The five-layer surface treatment provides grip and protection without adding mass:

Fuji SIC Guide System

All TORRENT models are fitted with Fuji SIC (Silicon Carbide) guides in a stainless steel frame. SIC inserts are the hardest guide material in production use — harder, smoother and more thermally conductive than aluminium oxide (AlOx) guides. SIC inserts do not groove under braid, conduct heat away from the line under casting friction (reducing braid heat damage on long casts), and provide a low-friction surface that maximises casting distance on every model.
