The Noeby Trolling Minnow is designed to run true across the full 3–12 knot speed range without hunting, spinning or losing depth stability. This is a wide and practically useful speed range:

• 3–4 knots — slow trolling; suited to sailing vessels, kayak trolling and slow boat drifts along reef edges and current lines; at this speed the minnow’s long narrow bib produces a tight, natural swimming action close to the speed of a live baitfish; effective for snapper and mackerel along shallow reef edges in 10–20m depth
• 5–8 knots — standard trolling speed for most trailer boats; the minnow maintains stable depth and swimming action throughout; suited to wahoo, large mackerel and tuna on outrigger and flat line rigs

The Noeby Trolling Minnow runs true immediately on first deployment without any tuning, speed adjustment or lure alignment. This is a practical advantage in offshore trolling where multiple lures are deployed and retrieved frequently — a lure that needs tuning takes time away from fishing and causes missed opportunities when fish are actively feeding. Connection Method — Use a Loop Knot, Snap or Wire

The Noeby Trolling Minnow is designed to be connected to the leader with a crimp, loop knot, snap swivel, cable or single-strand wire — not a direct clinch or improved clinch knot. A direct knot tightened against the lure’s tow point restricts the lure’s lateral movement and reduces or eliminates the swimming action. A loop knot (such as a Lefty Kreh loop or Homer Rhode loop) or snap allows the lure to swing freely on the retrieve, producing the wide swimming action it was designed for. For toothy species (wahoo, mackerel), attach via a wire trace or crimped mono/fluorocarbon loop to prevent bite-offs.

Long Narrow Bib

The bib (diving lip) is long relative to the lure body and narrow in profile. The long narrow bib geometry produces two specific performance characteristics compared to a short wide bib:

• Greater depth for equivalent speed — a longer bib creates more downward lift angle and pushes the lure deeper at the same trolling speed; the 7–9m depth range is achieved by the bib length working with the lure’s 50–98g weight
